One dead after scaffolding collapse at Pioneer Turn

A man in his 20s died on Wednesday (Oct 8) following a jumpform collapse at a construction site along Pioneer Turn.

Two other men, one in his 40s, were injured and conveyed conscious to the National University Hospital.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to the accident at 9.41am. They sent a fire engine, a red rhino, a fire bike and two ambulances to the scene.

At close to 5pm, Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin tweeted saying one of the injured men has been operated on, and is in the intensive care unit. The other is in stable condition.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
