Travel website TripAdvisor has declared the Singapore Zoo the fifth best zoo in the world.

In an award naming 275 zoos and aquariums in total, the site says its rankings are based on “millions” of user-generated reviews from one year.

The Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, was named the world’s best. The San Diego Zoo in California comes in second place.

TripAdvisor also said: “Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for zoos and aquariums worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period.”
