Floor cleaner Sofix Parquet has been recalled as a precautionary measure after it was detected that it may contain micro-organisms that could cause infection.
"These micro-organisms may have an adverse effect on the health of some people with a weak or compromised immune system, in the event they get product into an open wound or the eye, ear or mouth," said Sofix in a statement.
“This recall is being undertaken as a precautionary measure to guard against this very unlikely event which may cause an infection.”
The company said all Sofix Parquet in stores will be replaced. It added that other Sofix products are not affected by the recall.
Consumers who have purchased the product should stop using it, close the bottle properly and store it in a safe place. Details on how they can return the product are available on the company’s website.
Consumers are advised to contact their general practitioner if they experience symptoms after using the product.
