Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin said the government is not ruling out introducing anti-discrimination labour laws.

He said legislation is a possible way to address workplace discrimination but he also cautioned that laws alone may not change employers' mindsets.

Mr Tan said firms may also try to circumvent rules.

He suggested Singapore's approach of moral suasion and cooperation among the state, employers and employees may be a more effective way to deal with the situation.
