The police have issued permits for three election meetings to be held between Jan 23 and Jan 24.
Here's the statement from Traffic Police:
To facilitate the election meetings, Rivervale Crescent (between the Arulmigu Velmurugan Gnanamuneeswara Temple and Block 182) and Punggol Field Walk (between Punggol East and Block 128C) will be closed to vehicular traffic on nights of election meetings from 4.00 pm to 12.00 midnight.
Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced. Vehicles found parking and causing obstruction will be towed away.
HDB's service providers will be deployed at the carparks situated near the rally sites to ensure that the season parking lots remain reserved for the use of the residents. Members of public are reminded to avoid parking at such lots meant strictly for residents.
Police strongly encourage members of public attending the election meetings to take public transport as traffic congestion can be expected at the roads leading to the rally sites during this period. Motorists travelling within the vicinity of election meetings can anticipate heavy traffic and traffic delays. Motorists are also advised to tune in to the radio for updates on the latest traffic situation.
