QPR will travel to Asia for a pre-season tour, the Barclays Premier League club have confirmed.

Mark Hughes' side, who secured their top-flight status on the final day of the season despite a dramatic late defeat at champions Manchester City, will play two friendly fixtures in Thailand and Malaysia during July.

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes, who is also boss of AirAsia, told the club's official website: "We are very excited and honoured to be heading to Asia for our pre-season tour.

"The fans in Asia have embraced QPR since we became involved with the club and it's great that we can give so many of them a chance to come and watch the team play for the first time.

"It is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our brand in this part of the world.

"This brings QPR to the global stage which is critical to our commercial efforts."

The Hoops will play a Thai All Star XI at the 60,000 capacity Ramajangala National Stadium in Bangkok on July 14, before heading to Malaysia and a game against a Football Association of Sabah Select team in Kota Kinabalu.
