Mr Kouk, 28, a fourth-year student at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, has been out of contact with his family and friends for a week, after he landed in Athens, Greece, for a medical conference last Monday.
Before his scheduled flight last Saturday, someone had checked in online for the Singaporean medical student who is believed to be missing in Greece - but no one turned up for the flight back home.
Greek authorities are now attempting to track down the IP address of the computer used to check Mr Kouk in for the flight, in hopes of finding clues to his whereabouts.
His family and friends have set up a Facebook page to solicit information on his whereabouts.
His parents, brother, wife and a representative from Duke-NUS have flown to Greece to assist in the authorities' investigation. Mr Kouk's wife, Ms Seow Shu Ping, also reportedly went on Greek television to appeal for help on Monday night.
The Greek authorities also reportedly picked up a signal from Mr Kouk's mobile phone from a remote village some distance away from Greece.
