Joe Cole linked with QPR move

QPR boss Neil Warnock would like to take Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole on loan for the new season but admitted his wages are a stumbling block.

Despite featuring heavily in the Reds' pre-season training this summer, the 29-year-old's future remains in a balance.

A seaon-loan move to Loftus Road presents an opportunity for the former Chelsea player to reignite his career but Cole has indicated his desire to fight for a place in Kenny Dalglish's squad.

However, the Hoops want Liverpool to pay at least half of Cole's £90,000-a-week earnings - but it is unlikely the Anfield outfit will be amenable to such a deal.
