ON JULY 1, Malayan Railway (KTM) will vacate its Tanjong Pagar station and move its operations to the Woodlands checkpoint, a date decided upon in breakthrough talks between Malaysia and Singapore in 2010.

With the landmark land swop deal signed in September 2010, the two countries finally resolved the issue of Malayan Railway land in Singapore, originally set aside for joint development in the Points of Agreement (POA), signed in 1990.
'This is a firm deadline,' emphasised Foreign Minister George Yeo in Parliament on Thursday.
