Everton, Juventus, Flamengo and Porto are all coming to Singapore

Their youth teams that is.

The youth teams of illustrious clubs such as Everton, Porto, Juventus and Flamengo will grace the revived Lion City Cup tournament this June, according to sources.

The six-team Under-16 tournament will also feature last year's Youth Olympic Games (YOG) bronze-winning Cubs and the National Football Academy Under-15 team.

The tournament is likely to be the first major competition for the Cubs, after their YOG exploits last year.

Said YOG midfielder Ammirul Emran, who also won the inaugural Dollah Kassim Award last December: 'Of course I am excited. I heard that the Lion City Cup is coming back but I didn't expect such big teams - even youth teams from the English Premier League - to come here and play.'
