Two teenagers dealt with in court for possessing choppers

The pair had gone to the home of Faiz's girlfriend, 18-year-old Nurul Aisyah Osman the day before on November 12. Faiz then invited them to Costa Sands Resort in Pasir Ris as his cousin had rented a chalet there.

Before leaving the flat, court documents state that Faiz handed one of the choppers to Nurul Aisyah, and asked her to place it in her handbag.

He then tucked another chopper underneath his long-sleeved shirt.

The trio and a 13-year-old girl, who cannot be named due to her age, reached the resort at around 8.00pm.

They were caught about four hours later after police officers who were patrolling the vicinity decided to conduct a routine check on them.

The 13-year-old girl had earlier been dealt with in the Juvenile Court and was put on a 15-month probation.

Nurul Aisyah, who is also known as Siti Nur Janah, has pleaded guilty to the offence and will be sentenced on April 4.

18-year-old Muhammad Faiz Muhammad Effendi was sent to a Reformative Training Centre for rehabilitation.

His accomplice, 17-year-old Azad Khan Azlan, will be put on probation for 21 months.

Azad's parents had to also post a bond of S$5,000 to ensure his good behaviour.

For being in possession of the weapons, the boys could have been jailed up to three years and receive at least six strokes of the cane.
