The state of public transportation. The data is there ... let's use it

IT IS heartening to see Transport Minister Raymond Lim taking the trouble to try out the transport system firsthand to experience what it is like to use public transport (Sept 15).

However, a one-off trip on the bus does not give an accurate assessment of the true state of the public transport system.

I often see three buses of the same service number arriving at the same time and have given feedback through the proper channels.

Is it so difficult to get our public transport to a First World standard, where buses arrive on time and there is enough space for everybody to stand comfortably, without having to squeeze on board?
