SBS Transit sees 62% jump in Q3 profit

Transport operator SBS Transit has booked a 62 per cent increase in third quarter net profit to S$5.75 million. 

This, as revenue climbed 13.6 per cent to S$248.6 million, when compared to a year ago.

SBS Transit says both its bus and rail businesses registered higher average daily ridership and average fares.

Average daily ridership for its bus segment increased by 3.1 per cent year-on-year to 2.8 million passenger trips. 

Average daily ridership for the North-East MRT Line grew by 7.1 per cent to 527,000 passenger trips.
