David Moyes is back in football - at a northern club who wear blue and white and run a tight ship.

After his turbulent 10 months at Manchester United, the Scot is relaunching his career at La Liga’s version of Everton.

And Real Sociedad, a fiercely proud club from San Sebastian in the Basque country, are also looking to restore their battered reputation after a torrid past year.

“It’s a perfect fit,” said Wales boss Chris Coleman, who managed the club himself in 2007-08 before falling out with the new owner.

“Sociedad can be a real force. They were in the Champions League last year and that’s the level Moyes wants to be working at. The city is absolutely crazy about the club and it was a great experience.

“Leaving is my biggest regret in management. I should have shut my mouth and just got on with the job but when you are younger you are inexperienced.”

Moyes will take his first training session on Wednesday, with his opening match against Deportivo La Coruna after the international break on November 22.
