One man was left injured after a car ended up in a coffee shop on Wednesday evening (Sep 10).

Police were alerted to the incident at 7.08pm. They said the accident, along Geylang Road, involved one car. Channel NewsAsia understands that the wounded person was not the driver, and was conscious when sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

One person who called the MediaCorp hotline described the incident as a car “ramming into a coffee shop”. Another member of the public, Vernon Lim, sent Channel NewsAsia images of the aftermath and said there was a Suzuki Swift inside the eatery.

Channel NewsAsia understands that the driver was at the scene of the crash when police had arrived, and that he showed no indication of being drunk.

Investigations are underway.
