Facebook down: Users unable to post

Facebook users were unable to post a status update this evening (Oct 21), with many of them receiving an error notification saying “An error occurred. Please try again later” instead.

USAToday also reported that some users received error messages when they tried to send messages to friends.

A Facebook spokesperson was quoted in media reports saying an internal issue in our web infrastructure caused the site to be slow or unavailable for a brief period of time. "We resolved the issue quickly, and should now be back to 100%. We apologize for any inconvenience," said the spokesperson.
