Driver runs over racist skateboarder

According to the Seattle Police Department, a driver of a minivan (MPV) was stopped on 15th Avenue Northeast at Northwest 80th Street around 5 p.m. on Sunday when by a skateboarder who had blocked his path.

The skateboarder reportedly yelled racial slurs at the driver and used his skateboard to smash the minivan's hood and windshield.

According to police, the driver then ran over the skateboarder, trapping him under the minivan.

A number of citizens were able to lift the minivan and free the skateboarder, who was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver was released pending further investigation.
