Road closure for Hari Raya Light-Up opening ceremony

Sims Avenue and some surrounding roads will have lanes closed to vehicular traffic this weekend.

Majlis Pusat Central Council of Malay Cultural Organisations Singapore is organising the Hari Raya Light-Up Opening Ceremony this Sunday with an expected crowd of 30,000. A rehearsal will be conducted on Saturday.

Engku Aman Road (between Sims Avenue and open carpark entrance near to Tanjong Katong Complex), and the extreme left lane of Sims Avenue (between Engku Aman Road and Eunos Road 5) will be closed from 5pm to 8.30pm this weekend.

The extreme left lane of Eunos Road 5 in the direction of Eunos Avenue 7A (between Sims Avenue and carpark entrance/exit leading to Block 410-417) will be closed on Saturday from 5pm to 8.30pm.

Eunos Road 5 (between Sims Avenue and carpark entrance/exit leading to Block 410-417) will be closed on Sunday from 3pm to 11pm.

During the road closures, access into the above-mentioned roads will only be granted to police and emergency vehicles.

Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced. Vehicles found parking and causing obstruction will be towed away.
