CNB nabs 96 drug abusers, 15 traffickers in 48hr operation

Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers arrested 96 drug abusers and 15 drug traffickers in a 48-hour operation that ended July 12.

Officers conducted multiple raids island-wide and seized drugs with a total estimated street value of more than $34,000. They recovered about 260g of heroin, 26g of 'Ice', 60g of cannabis and various other drugs such as ketamine, Erimin-5 and 'Ecstasy'.

In one of the raids, officers arrested four male Singaporeans in Clementi West on Tuesday morning. In one of the men's homes, officers found around 61g of heroin, estimated to have a street value of more than $6,300. Investigations into the 56-year-old man's drug activities are ongoing.

On the same day, CNB officers arrested two men and one woman in a HDB unit at the Yung Kuang Road area. Officers seized an assortment of drugs with an estimated street value of more than $3,500 that included 58g of cannabis, 14g of heroin, three Erimin-5 tablets and a small amount of 'Ice'.

All seven suspected drug offenders have been admitted into a drug rehabilitation centre.
