Malaysia FA Cup: Resilient T-Team advance to quarters

Pahang, who are currently second in Malaysia's second tier, went into the game confident of following up their win over Super League side Felda United in the previous round with yet another top-flight scalp.

However a last gasp Faiz Subri goal helped T-Team secure a 3-2 win over Pahang on Friday and advance to the quarter-finals of the 2012 Malaysia FA Cup.

Pahang's Hazuan Daud powerful shot from the edge of the box gave the visitors the lead after 49 minutes at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Terengganu but T-team took only six minutes to level matters, with Azrul Hazan drilling the ball home.

The home side's advantage was not to last long however... not with Pahang's leading scorer Azamuddin Akil curling a 58th minute corner past the stunned T-Team goalkeeper Syamsuri Mustafa.

Unbowed, T-team hit back and drew level for the second time courtesy of former international Fadzli Saari's spectacular strike on 63 minutes.

With both teams pushing for the win, it was, however, T-Team who were to have the last laugh, Faiz glancing a header past Wan Azrain Wan Teh in the 94th minute to ensure his side's progress to the last eight.
