Govt to release more land for international schools: Iswaran

The Government will be releasing more parcels of land for international schools to use for the long term so that Singapore continues to attract foreigners to come here to work and live.

Second Minister for Trade and Industry S. Iswaran said leasing out land to be used for the long term by international schools will encourage them take a long term view of their presence in Singapore and invest in the resources to provide a quality education.

He said the Government has been encouraging international schools 'to set high standards and to invest in the resources that commensurate with the expectations of parents and students in this global environment that we live in'.

He added: 'That means their ability to take a long view and to invest in the requisite resources both hardware and software and the people in order to deliver.'
