Ferrari unveils fastest-ever road car

Ferrari has unveiled its fastest-ever production car, the F12 Berlinetta, ahead of the official debut at the Geneva International Motor Show.

The 12-cylinder model, a replacement for the 599 Fiorano, goes from 0 to 100kmh in just 3.1 seconds and 0 to 200kmh in 8.5 seconds. Its maximum speed? 340kmh.

The F12 Berlinetta is driven by a 6.3-litre V12 that is naturally aspirated, with power and torque peaking at 730bhp and 690Nm respectively. 80 per cent of the torque will be available at just 2,500rpm.

Fuel consumption has also been reduced by 30 per cent, with CO2 emissions of 350g/km, thanks to improvements in aerodynamics and other areas such as weight savings. The Berlinetta's current weight is about 70 kg less than the previous V12 coupe.
