Seven out of 10 – that’s how national men’s coach Solomon Casoojee rated his boys.
That was despite the lop-sided 15-1 scoreline in the Olympic hockey qualifier between Singapore and eight-time Olympic champions India at the Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi last night.
In the lead-up to the game, he said he was not looking at the eventual score, but the performance of his charges.
In a telephone interview with The New Paper after the match last night, Casoojee said: “The boys’ performances were commendable, playing against a team like India, they did not give up and took the game to them.”
