Mr Ong Yue Hing, 55, was due to start his shift as a security guard at the Sengkang depot on the North-East Line at 8pm on Tuesday.

But he told his family that he wanted to go in an hour earlier so he could familiarise himself with his new workplace.
That decision may have cost him his life.
About 40 minutes before he would officially start his new job, Mr Ong was crushed by a heavy metal gate that collapsed while he was trying to close it.
About 10 men went to his rescue by lifting the gate as others pulled him out. He was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun where he died about four hours later.
The police said they received a call on Tuesday at about 7.20pm asking for assistance at the North-East Line MRT depot along Sengkang East Avenue.
At 8pm, Yi Ru and his mother received a call from Mr Ong's supervisor, who told them that Mr Ong had been in an accident and was being taken to the hospital.
By the time they reached the hospital, Mr Ong was unconscious and undergoing surgery to stop the bleeding.
