Four Youths Nabbed For Series Of Property Offences in Yishun

On 19 December 2010 at about 11.50 pm , a 26 year-old woman reported to the Police that she had been assaulted and robbed by two unknown suspects in the vicinity of Yishun Ring Road. Items stolen from her included cash, a handphone and other valuables totalling about $900/-.

Through extensive follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division managed to establish the identity of one of the suspects.

On 17 February 2011 at about 9.45 am , the first suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Blk 91 Paya Lebar Road. Through follow-up investigations, another three suspects were arrested in Yishun the same day between 10.30 am and 12.15 pm.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are also believed to be involved in other cases of snatch theft and housebreaking in the Yishun Estate.

Three of the suspects will be charged in Court No. 26 on 19 February 2011 for Robbery with Hurt which carries a maximum of 20 years imprisonment and at least 12 strokes of the cane. Investigations are on-going against the remaining suspect.
