On 28 Dec 2010, Police issued an appeal for information through the media with CCTV footage of a man who was required to assist with investigations in relation to the break-ins at Jurong East Street 13. The appeal for information was also subsequently publicised on new media channels such as the Singapore Police Force Facebook page and Razor TV.
Following the appeal for information, the suspect, a 26 year-old man, surrendered himself at Jurong Police Division at about 3.45pm on 4 January 2011.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 6 Jan 2011 for the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 14 years.
