The Singaporean man who was accused of murdering a Vietnamese woman has been declared fit to plead in court following an extended period of psychiatric evaluation.
The prosecution told the State Courts today (Dec 19) that Jackson Lim Hou Peng, 40, had been found “not of unsound mind”.
Lim subsequently appeared before the court via video link and appeared to have understood the proceedings which were translated to him in Mandarin. He did not object to them. He will face the court again on Dec 26 at 9am.
Lim, 40, was charged on Nov 22 for the murder of Tran Cam Ny, 32, who was found lying motionless on the floor of a two-bedroom flat at Block 406, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, on Nov 20 by the police.
