Transport operator SMRT confirmed one of its webpages was compromised on Tuesday (Oct 14). Visitors to a page on smrtmedia.com.sg - the website of the company's advertising arm - were reportedly redirected to another webpage which said "Hacked by Bortecine Tim".

The redirected site had a banner similar to that on a hacked newspaper website. A screenshot (below) of the hacked page was posted on a Twitter account with the handle @BortecineTim. The alleged hacker or hacker group's location is specified Dogu, Turkistan, and the account appears to be associated with the East Turkestan independence movement.

A search of the moniker on Google turned up several other webpages that appeared to have been defaced by Bortecine Tim, including one for an engineering and contracting firm, Concord.
