Several roads and lanes will be closed for the Hindu Endowment Board (HEB)'s Firewalking Ceremony on Sunday (Oct 12), the Singapore Police Force said.
The ceremony involves a foot procession that will start at Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple on Serangoon Road and end at Sri Mariamman Temple on South Bridge Road.
To facilitate the event, the police said in an advisory on Friday that Temple Street and Mohamed Ali Lane will be closed from 2pm on Sunday to 7am on Monday (Oct 13).
Additionally, Mosque Street will become a two-way road to allow access to and exit from New Bridge Road from 2pm on Oct 12 to 7am on Oct 13.
During the road closures, access into the above roads will only be granted to police and emergency vehicles, the advisory said.
Parking restrictions at the single yellow lines on the extreme left lane of South Bridge Road (between Upper Pickering Street and Temple Street) and along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced from 12am on Sunday to 7am on Oct 13.
Vehicles found parking and causing obstruction will be towed away, the police said.
