I was in a long snaking taxi queue at Ngee Ann City last Saturday afternoon when the taxi coordinator noticed a pregnant woman standing in line.
Without blinking an eye, she asked the 50 or so people in front of the woman if they could allow her to come to the front of the queue.
Without hesitation, they agreed and even automatically moved aside to let her and an elderly relative pass.
I am glad that chivalry is not dead in Singapore and, when required, people here do step up to the plate.
