Liverpool's Samuel Eto'o move in jeopardy as French police also wants him
Liverpool's pursuit of Samuel Eto’o has been dealt a huge blow after it emerged that French police want to question him over allegations that he posted intimate pictures of his ex-girlfriend on the internet.

Reports in France claim that a Parisian judge has ruled there are grounds to investigate Eto’o, following a complaint made by Nathalie Koah.

She has accused the 33-year-old of “human trafficking, indecency, publishing obscene content, pimping, threats, blackmail and false declarations” after the acrimonious break-up of their relationship.

Louis van Gaal begs Manchester United bosses to break the bank after Swansea horror show
Louis van Gaal has urged Manchester United to break the bank on new players.

The Dutch manager’s Old Trafford reign began with a devastating defeat to Swansea.

Goals from Ki Sung-Yeung and Gylfi Sigurdsson sentenced United to their first opening-day home defeat since 1972 and left Van Gaal desperately in need of reinforcements at the Old Trafford club.

Van Gaal’s message to the Glazer family and vice-chairman Ed Woodward was clear.

He said: “It is not a question of whether we need more players... I knew that before this game. But you have to buy only when the player can fulfil the way of playing that I ask.”

Sami Khedira's representatives set to meet in London, but which - Arsenal or Chelsea?
Sami Khedira’s agents are due in London this week to talk over a move to either Stamford Bridge or The Emirates.

The World Cup-winning Germany international has decided to quit Real Madrid after showdown talks with boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Khedira had planned to spend one more year at the Bernabeu before leaving on a free transfer when his contract runs out next summer, Sunday People Sport can reveal.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been monitoring the situation with Khedira for a while, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and his Blues counterpart Jose Mourinho – who worked with the player when he was in charge at Real – long-term admirers.

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck expected to stay
Manchester United are adamant Danny Welbeck will remain at the club.

The 23-year-old, who is believed to be a £14million target for Hull City, was highlighted by the Tigers as a leading candidate to the replace the departed Shane Long.

United, however, have no interest in letting the Academy graduate leave Old Trafford.

Louis van Gaal has installed Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie as his No.1 pairing. But the Longsight-born striker is viewed as an important member of the squad who will get a chance to stake a claim for a first-team place.

Tottenham to make THIRD Schneiderlin bid - despite Southampton's refusal
Tottenham will this week make a THIRD offer for Morgan Schneiderlin.

And they may well face competition from Arsenal for the France international midfield player.

Southampton have so far re-buffed all approaches for the 24-year-old who has made it clear he wants to join the exodus from St Mary’s.

Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Ricky Lambert, Calum Chambers and Dejan Lovren have already left – and Schneiderlin wants to join them. But manager Ronald Koeman insists he will stay and has said he is fit for selection for this afternoon’s clash with Liverpool.
