From Jan 2 next year, individuals who have registered their Singapore telephone numbers on the Do Not Call Registry, but continue to receive telemarketing messages or calls from organisations that do not have consent from them, may first wish to approach the relevant organisations to have their numbers removed from their marketing lists ("Do-Not-Call registry: How to seek redress?" by Mr Teo Jui Hang; last Wednesday).

They may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission for investigations.

The details of the lodgement process will be published on www.pdpc.gov.sg. Individuals may also wish to contact us on 6377-3131 or info @pdpc.gov.sg for general inquiries.
