Some people might have been tempted by the bling, but not this honest housekeeper.

When Hatten Hotel Malacca worker Khua Kung Thang found a diamond ring worth RM48,000 ($18,600) left behind by a Singaporean woman, the 24-year-old did the right thing — he returned it.

The woman, who requested anonymity, stayed in the hotel at Jalan Merdeka, Malacca, for three days on a business trip.

Mr Khua, who is from Myanmar, was performing housekeeping duties when he spotted the diamond ring in the groove of a chair inside the hotel room.

He told his superiors about the find and the hotel informed the guest that her ring was found in the room on the same day as she was driving back to Singapore.
