Woman makes 11-year-old son deface home of loan-shark victim

A 43-year-old housewife was jailed yesterday for four years and seven months and fined $150,000 after pleading guilty to four counts of loan-shark harassment and five counts of assisting unlicensed moneylenders.

In one of the incidents, on Sept 7 last year, she took her then 11-year-old son to deface the home of a loan-shark victim.

Her engineer husband, who wanted to be known only as Roger, said yesterday that he scolded her for asking the boy to splash red paint on the front door of the flat.

The 47-year-old said: “I told my wife, ‘If you wanted to do something like this, you could have done it yourself. Why would you want to spoil our son’s future?”

He has since forgiven his wife and is looking forward to her release from prison.
