Police have arrested a 27-year-old man believed to be involved in a snatch theft at Geylang Lorong 16.

The suspect had identified himself as an National Environment Agency (NEA) officer when he approached his 52-year-old male victim at about 1am on October 30.

He had asked the victim to take out his identification card.

While the victim was taking out the card from his wallet, the suspect snatched the man's gold chain and fled.

Upon investigation, officers from the Bedok Police Division soon established the suspect's identity and on November 28, he was subsequently arrested near Changi Road.
