Legoland Malaysia water park opens today

The opening of Legoland Malaysia Water Park today will transform Legoland Malaysia into a resort. It is the first in Asia and biggest in the world.

Legoland Malaysia Resort general manager Siegfried Boerst said: "The water park, which is the first in Asia and also the largest in the world, will add a whole new dimension to the Legoland Malaysia experience."

He said it could be enjoyed as a single attraction, or in combination with the theme park. Legoland Malaysia Resort, located in Nusajaya, Johor, offers more than 70 rides, slides, shows and attractions.

Its water park uses more than three million litres of water and has more than 20 water-based rides.

Its highlights include The Build-A-Raft River where children can customise their own raft with Lego soft bricks before floating down a river.

The Joker Soaker is a fun interactive structure where children can shoot each other with water cannons.

There is a giant bucket that pours 350 gallons of water into a wade pool.
