Singapore's Daim Hishamuddin is all set to take the big step to compete in the bright lights of Formula One.

The 15-year-old go-kart sensation is ready to step up and begin his journey to become a F1 driver.

Daim, who is currently based in Jakarta with his family, will be testing out Formula BMW or Renault cars soon in the junior formula racing category.

The recently-crowned Rotax Asian Go-Kart Champion said he could be starting the next phase of his career as early as the end of the year,

Daim, winner of Rotax Asian Go-Kart Championship, said: "These formula cars are basically like Formula One cars, except they are a bit smaller and a bit slower.

“But other than that, they are still as physically demanding and you can learn as much from them as you will from Formula One."
