Three cop cars damaged in wild chase

The drama began at about 9:15 a.m. Saturday when Puyallup (Washington state) officers received a 911 call from a woman saying that her 18-year-old daughter was high on drugs, brandishing a knife at her and trashing her home.

As officers responded, one of them spotted the 18-year-old in a car. The officer attempted to stop her, but she eluded him and drove off through a Home Depot parking lot, striking a customer.

The officer continued to follow her, and she drove into a YMCA parking lot, turned around, and drove straight for the officer's patrol car. She slammed head-in into the front of the officer's car, causing his air bags to go off, police said.

The woman was able to flee the collision scene and collided with another Puyallup officer’s vehicle when he tried a pivoting maneuver to stop her.

Again she was able to get away, and was rear-ended by another police car. She finally crashed into a large sign in the 300 block of 43rd Avenue SE, which disabled her vehicle.

Officers tried to arrest her, but she resisted. She finally was taken into custody and brought to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the series of crashes and collisions.

Of the three police cars struck by the suspect, one sustained major damage and the other two received minor damage. The officer in the more severely damaged car was treated at the scene and released. The customer in the Home Depot parking lot sustained minor injuries.
