While many are looking forward to the Formula 1 Grand Prix Race next week, a group of people are already enjoying the races, albeit of a different kind.

Some 2,000 people gathered at the Telok Blangah Community Club on Sunday, with their pets in tow.

These residents from West Coast GRC and Pioneer constituency were taking part in the fourth qualifying round of the Singapore Pets Idol competition.

The high-throttle activities included hamster races and dog agility obstacle courses.

Winners will compete with those from other districts at the national finals in November.

Through this event, organisers hope that residents can bond and share their love for pets with the community.
