A man has been arrested for criminal trespass in connection with the Bedok Point vandalism case.
Police revealed this development Tuesday evening, adding that investigations are ongoing.
The case came to light quite dramatically, when an act of vandalism at the atrium of the mall was dramatically caught on tape.
The footage from a shop's CCTV around 5am on Sunday showed a young man kicking down a display case at Bedok Point atrium.
About half an hour later, some youngsters were seen helping to put the shelving back, only to bring it down again.
Go to the 0:17sec mark:
A day later, the aftermath was still evident and the damage was estimated at S$1,000.
The shop said it uploaded the CCTV footage to its Facebook page to send a clear message to youngsters, not just to the culprits.
The building management said it filed a police report following the incident.
Some shopkeepers at the mall said it was not the first time that such an incident had happened.
