Danone Dumex said on Thursday that all of its milk formula products produced using the potentially contaminated ingredient supplied by Fonterra are safe.

The company said the safety of its products was reconfirmed on Wednesday by the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries -- the ministry had announced that the bacteria found in three specific batches of whey protein concentrate manufactured by Fonterra was not clostridium botulinum, and is not capable of causing botulism.

Danone Dumex said no test, either before or during this period, indicated any clostridium botulinum in its products.

It said the decision to recall products as a precaution was based on the information supplied at the time by Fonterra and health authorities.
