The completion of the second stage of the Downtown Line (DTL2), which will link Singapore’s north-western corridor to the new Marina downtown, will be delayed by six months after the main contractor went bust.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) yesterday said work is expected to be completed by mid-2016, as it appointed two new contractors to complete works on King Albert Park, Sixth Avenue and Tan Kah Kee stations and their associated tunnels.

Construction on the three affected stations will begin today and is expected to be conducted around the clock in order to minimise delays. This stage of the DTL2 was supposed to be completed in December 2015.
