Serie A: Inter to pip United for Lucas

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Sao Paulo for the transfer of Lucas Moura.

The talented attacking midfielder has been linked with Inter Milan, Manchester United and Real Madrid throughout the year.

Now, sources in the Italian media have indicated that the player is close to inking a deal with the Nerazzurri, despite Lucas insisting previously that he is fully focused on Brazil's Olympic campaign,

Reports earlier in the week had suggested that negotiations between Sao Paulo and Inter broke down after the Serie A side refused to meet Sao Paulo's valuation of 40 million Euros. However, latest news indicates that the Brazilian side have accepted Inter's 27 million Euro bid after the Italian club threw in various performance bonuses that could see the eventual fee rise to 37 million Euros.

The 19-year old is expected to commence discussion of personal terms with Nerazzurri officials in the coming days. Lucas was widely expected to join compatriot Oscar in the Premier League by signing for Manchester United, but the Red Devils look set to miss out on the Brazilian after failing to make a satisfactory bid for him.
