The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said traffic is expected to be heavy at both the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints during the upcoming National Day (August 9) and Hari Raya Puasa (August 19) holidays.

ICA expects traffic volume to be high from August 8 to 12 for the National Day period and from August 17 to 20 for the Hari Raya Puasa period.

Travellers using the two checkpoints during these periods can expect delays.

As such, ICA advises travellers to adjust travel plans if possible, so as to avoid a surge of people and vehicles clearing the checkpoints.

It says with enhanced security checks, traffic build-up is inevitable, particularly when a large number of travellers use the checkpoints at the same time.
