In the first case, Jetstar passenger Denver said he and his friends were left stranded in Guangzhou after their plane did not take off.

Some 150 passengers were stuck on board the freezing plane for five hours, unable to disembark, said Denver.

Denver described how the flight, 3K842, was scheduled to take off at 1.20am on June 11, but after 15 minutes of taxiing on the runway, the plane was still grounded.

The captain had also repeatedly assured passengers that the plane will take off soon, but it did not.

"After numerous complaints by the majority of the passengers, we decided to exit the plane. However, we were not allowed to leave the passenger tunnel leading back to the airport because there were no immigration personnel on duty at our boarding gate," said Denver.

Arrangements were then made for passengers to stay at a nearby hotel, but they were left without their luggage.

On the same date at 10.30pm, Denver and the other passengers were informed to check out of the hotel, after which they headed to the airport. '

"It was yet another wasted trip as it turned out repairs were not yet completed," said Derek.

Passengers were also given an apology letter and a $50 Jetstar voucher, which he described as an insignificant amount for the inconvenience caused.

"We had to abandon the day's work, wear dirty clothes without access to our luggage and spoil the memories of the wonderful trip that we had," said Derek.

A supposed scheduled return flight on June 12 at noon turned out to be another disappointment, and they waited at the hotel in vain.

Denver and his friends have since booked a flight back to Singapore on another airline.

In the second case, passenger Charlotte said her flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore was cancelled without warning on June 11.

She described how hundreds of angry passengers were stranded at the airport since 7pm yesterday due to the cancellation of two Jetstar flights.

"I made a call to the Singapore number at past 6pm to be told that the flight was changed to 9.40pm.

"But when passengers arrived at the airport, they saw a sign informing them the flight was actually changed to 12 midnight!

"The counter was closed, there was just the sign there."

Describing the lack of information as "appalling", Charlotte said when she finally got through to a staff on the phone, she was not given an explanation as to why the flights were changed.
