Applauding policemen with unwavering integrity

Two officers refused a $2,000 bribe while another turned down sexual favours thrice.

These three police officers received the prestigious Commissioner of Police Commendation Award for turning down the inducements.

They are among 29 cops who rejected bribes in 2012 and Police Commissioner Ng Joo Hee praised them for their “moral courage and unshakeable integrity".

At an Ethics Seminar held on 11 January 2012, Commissioner Ng said the Singapore Police Force demands that every officer should live up to the core values of Courage, Loyalty, Integrity and Fairness.

He said SPF’s Internal Affairs Office which was set up in September 2011 is dedicated to take corrupt police officers to task.

This was highlighted in an article in Police Life Magazine.
