Singapore's strongest woman can flip 150kg tyre

Jen Li Sheng, 27, and Sophia Ong Hwee Szee, 32 have been crowned Singapore's strongest man and woman at the annual HomeTeamNS Strongman Challenge.

Li and Ong sealed the competition with their strong showing in five categories, one of which was the Stamford Tyre Flip Challenge.

Li, the champion for 2008 and 2010, flipped the 350kg tyre six times in 45.02sec while Ong flipped a 150kg tyre six times in 27.40sec.

It was the first time in eight years that a female category was introduced. Ong beat five other finalists to be crowned the inaugural champion.

The competition was held at Toa Payoh HDB Hub Mall on Saturday, March 24.

Both winners walked away with cash and prizes, presented by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs and President of HomeTeamNS.

The second position in the Men's and Women's Individual categories went to Samuel Lim, 29, a gym owner and Cheryl Foo Wei Shan, 19, student.

Third place went to Sulaiman Bin Ismail, 33, a digital project manager and Nursyazwani Bte Mohammed Ferozan, 21, an early childhood teacher.
