$300 charge for 4 days' parking at BUDGET Terminal

The absence of a daily cap for parking charges at Changi Airport's BUDGET Terminal has caught many holidaymakers and travellers off-guard.

One housewife, Ms Amanda Goh, racked up a $300 bill after parking her car there for four days, while another, Mr Ron Graham, was charged $82.40 for parking there for 34 hours.

The car parks at Changi Airport's four terminals all charge a four cents-a-minute fee. But at Terminals 1, 2 and 3, there is a $20 daily cap, while the Budget Terminal has none.

Ms Goh, 43, claimed that the signs displaying the parking charges at the Budget Terminal are unclear. One of them, located at the entry barrier to the car park, "looked more like an advertisement".
