22-year-old Singaporean dies after fall from New York building

A 22-year-old Singaporean student died after plummeting 16 storeys from a luxury high-rise apartment in New York on Sunday evening.

Samantha Kwek had apparently quarrelled with her boyfriend, who lived in the building that was located in the diplomatic district of Manhattan.

According to the New York Post, Kwek had threatened to kill herself in several text messages she had exchanged with her boyfriend Benjamin Small, 30.

Police reportedly found a suicide note.

According ro reports, she landed on East 48th Street in front the United Nations headquarters across the street from the Algerian Embassy.
