A Singaporean national was found dead with a stab injury to his neck in his apartment on the 20th floor of Mall of Indonesia (MOI) in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Saturday.
North Jakarta Police spokesman Comr. Maskur Bujang Chaniago named the victim as Chelapan Karunandhi, 40, a specialist at the gas-and-coal-fired power plant (PLTGU) in Muara Tawar, in Bekasi.
"He had an injury to his neck, [and was found] lying face down, wearing black shorts and a white shirt," Chaniago said Saturday in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara.
"The murderer must have known the victim; because a key-card is required to enter the apartment on the 20th floor," he added.
Chaniago said police had gathered several items, including a kitchen knife probably used by the murderer, as evidence.
He added the victim had lived in the apartment by himself for a year, and that his body had been discovered by a mineral-water supplier.ORIGINAL SOURCE
